Every girl deserves to be safe, seen, and supported. It’s her birthright and the cornerstone of her ability to thrive. This walk is not just about raising awareness—it’s about encouraging real, transformative change. We’re marching to amplify the voices of millions of girls whose rights are overlooked, to champion equal opportunities, and to stand up against violence and trauma. United, we can pave the way for a world where every girl has the chance to shine and thrive.

57% of teen girls are feeling persistently sad or hopeless, a rate double that of boys.

The percentage of girls experiencing sadness or hopelessness increased by 21% while boys only increased by 8%.

DC’s 2022-2023 Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) Discipline Report reflected a spike in girls facing out-of-school suspensions since 2018.

65% of these suspensions resulted from incidents of violence.
